I’ve really been getting into the lo-fi beats genre of late, but Czientist’s music really blows all the other artists in the style out of the water!

For a start, Yellow has a lot more instrumentation than you might otherwise expect from a lo-fi tune, creating some wonderful textures within the amazing production style. It has a fairly steady beat and bassline, but a huge array of synths descend on the song as you listen to it, working well with the rhythm section and piano motifs. The synths are layered across each other, sucking you into Yellow straight away. This is one of the best instrumental hip-hop songs I’ve heard in recent months, making it a true must listen.
