Deer Park Avenue are a sister duo based in Munich, Germany who play riff-laden rock akin to Jack White, Royal Blood and Led Zeppelin. They’ve just hit my radar thanks to their collaboration with Grammy winners Gregg Bissonette and Reto Peter. It’s called Strut.
By Graeme Smith
Opening with a raw, bluesy riff, you’re left in no doubt what to expect from Strut right from the off. It’s swaggering classic rock with charismatic vocals and a modern edge. As the track progresses, it makes great use of loud and quiet textures to keep things interesting before finishing big.
Deer Park Avenue are Indian-American sisters Sarah and Steph. They have an EP set for release imminently, with their second LP arriving next year. Strut features Gregg Bissonette on drums and was produced by Reto Peter who has previously worked with Green Day, Modest Mouse and Counting Crows. You can give the single a listen below.
