Brighton and London-based “calypso alt pop” act Fond of Rudy first featured on this blog in July this year thanks to their track How Do I Delete You? It was powerful pop rock track full of heartache and anguish. Their new track follows in a similar vein, exploring the inexperience and pressures of young love. It’s called 22.

A gentle intro quickly bursts into life in 22. The instrumentals are very reminiscent of ’80s electro pop but Fond of Rudy also bring a modern edge with their sound. Expressive vocals tell an emotional story and a funky melody will have you moving. What more could you want from a pop song?
