Ottawa, Canada based indie pop duo Wotts have been featuring on our blog since early 2022. They were part of Jane’s Made in Canada roundup which she followed up with an interview shortly after. Since then we’ve shared a few more of their tracks. Their latest is heavily inspired by ’90s rock as well as contemporary musicians like Alvvays and George Clanton. It’s called be kind.

Be kind is a bright and instantly arresting track. You can detect the ’90s influences straight away. There’s a hopefulness about its soft rock arrangement that reflects that time. Yet, it doesn’t get lost in nostalgia. There’s a darker edge to the track’s lyrics which is perfectly emoted by the vocals.

Wotts are made up of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jayem, and bassist and guitarist Ricky 100. Be kind was produced by Jayem. You can check it out below.
