BOSSMACHINE are a Los Angeles, USA-based producer duo who formed last year but have only just hit our radar thanks to their new breakup track, Choices.
By Graeme Smith
Choices is a team up between BOSSMACHINE and Jade Duncan, who performs as Blu Jay. A genre-defying track, it opens slow and soulful before hitting a lo-fi groove. Dream pop is combined seamlessly with hip-hop in an arrangement that’s rich with emotion and atmosphere, and the layers in the chorus are a particular highlight.
BOSSMACHINE are producer, songwriter, mixer and engineer Austin Love, and producer and songwriter Matt “Niko” Pease. Austin has a pop-punk background and experience under Atlantic Records while Niko’s roots are in hip-hop and drag performance. Choices features on their debut album Untitled which is out now. You can give the single a listen below.
