Bella Deer, the performing name of Isabella Losi, is a Melbourne, Australia-based singer songwriter who released her debut single Bloom in 2022. Yet it’s taken until now for her to make it onto my radar. That’s all thanks to her new track all about having to make a choice between two things you care very strongly about. It’s called Care Too Much.

Care Too Much is a slow burning alternative folk and rock track that will hit you in the feels right from the off. Bella’s powerful yet subtle vocals are definitely the highlight. They beautifully emote the conflicted story of its lyrics, particularly during a sweeping chorus which is reminiscent of some of Florence and The Machine’s work.

Bella co-wrote the track with Joel Quartermain who also did the production and mixing. The final mastering was done by Lachlan Carrick. Care Too Much was recognised as a finalist in the 2021 APRA AMCOS Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition. You can give it a listen below.
