Emme, real name Emily Dakin, is a Canadian pop singer songwriter and producer who has just come to my attention thanks to the second single release from her upcoming second album. All about the mental burden of change and healing, it’s called Growing Pains.

Growing Pains has an instantly absorbing and emotional feel to it. The first verse is quiet and stripped-back, giving plenty of space to Emme’s compelling vocals and image-laden lyrics. There’s a raw and relatable feel to her story, familiar to anyone who’s been caught in introspection. As the track progresses, the depth of its production grows, reaching a beautifully lush conclusion.
