Peri Rae is a London-based artist who has featured on this blog once before. At the beginning of 2022, I ran the rule over her authentic and acoustic track In Between. Now, I’m pleased to say she’s back with another autobiographical tale. It’s called the ocean (i could die).
By Graeme Smith
The ocean (i could die) was written after Peri moved from the city to the seaside. It was a move to help her mental health, but not a straightforward decision, and it’s this conflict that she explores in her new track. It opens with delicate acoustic guitar before Peri’s distinctive vocals come in. Its sense of intimacy is powerful and you’ll be feeling along to every note, especially during its emotional soft rock crescendo.
The track was recorded at White Star Studio in Virginia, USA with producer John Trainum, and is being release independently by Peri. You can check out the ocean (i could die) below.
