Manchester-based artist Maddy Story has been on our pages a couple of times before. We discovered her at the beginning of 2022 through her emotional hyperpop track Mattress, and then followed that up with a share of her EP Forced Extrovert the same year. Now she’s back with another new track that pays tribute to the season. It’s called Last Halloween.

Last Halloween is a relatable and vulnerable track that delves deep into the impact mental health challenges have on your life. The story is delivered through dark and atmospheric electronic instrumentals and Maddy’s characterful vocals. It’s pop but not as you know it, reaching emotional depths that most things in the chart can only aspire to.

The track is entirely self-produced and mixed by Maddy who is on a mission to increase the number of female producers in the world. You can give Last Halloween a listen below.
