Video: Viola Hutchinson – Ruby Moon

Hailing from Los Angeles, USA, Viola Hutchinson is an artist who has just hit my radar thanks to her new track and video. A wistful reflection on her girlhood, it’s called Ruby Moon.

By Graeme Smith

Ruby Moon is a coming of age tale, set among Viola’s dreams of escape as a fourteen-year-old. Pop meets rock in its composition, with a lively, driving beat and soaring, dream-like atmosphere. The star of the show is certainly Viola’s smooth and characterful vocals. She has the kind of voice that you can listen to all day.

Viola’s influences range from classics like T. Rex to modern lyricists like Lana Del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers. The result is something beautifully unique. I’m looking forward to hearing more from her.

Ruby Moon was created in collaboration with Robbie Nevil. You can check out its video below.
