Irish singer-songwriter Still Searching adds a new twist to the folk genre on his new release, Notifications Off.

Whilst Notifications Off has a folky vibe, Still Searching also includes a modern pop sensibility, putting the autotune to good use on the vocals. I’m not normally a massive fan of autotune, but it’s clear that this artist has a fantastic voice regardless, and it’s used to enhance the track, rather than to take over it. The music is mostly provided by a pretty, fingerpicked acoustic guitar, although a steady rhythm section does appear towards the end, alongside some lovely backing effects, making for something very atmospheric.
