Discovery: Sletta

Sletta is a London-based Norwegian artist who likes to blend neo-soul with contemporary jazz in the vein of Hiatus Kaiyote. She’s just come to my attention thanks to the first single from her upcoming project all about looking for positives, trusting your instinct and shedding the bad. It’s called Good Signs.

By Graeme Smith

With her latest, Sletta expresses what it’s like to be a young woman, constantly undermined and having to work extra hard to be heard, and to trust oneself. The boldness of the track articulates its message well, marrying smooth instrumentals with fiery, world-weary lyrics. She truly has a way with words, and her fresh take on traditional genres is really exciting.

I’m looking forward to getting to know Sletta’s music and her world better. I hope you will too. You can check out Good Signs below.
