London-based experimental dream pop artist Frank Joshua has become a regular feature on this blog, having first come to our attention in the Summer of 2022 by being included in Jane’s Monthly Favourites round up. He never fails to impress and intrigue with his unique tracks and videos. His latest is no exception. A meditation on loneliness, it’s called Winter Cowboy.
By Graeme Smith
Frank’s latest is a sultry and moody affair, opening with a looping piano refrain before moving into a more jazzy composition. The melancholy of it perfectly reflects its theme and the season in which it takes places, as does its unsaturated, storytelling video.
We’re not the only ones taking note of Frank’s music. He’s just been rewarded by Spotify Editorial with a This Is Frank Joshua playlist. It’s thoroughly deserved. With three new singles and an album already pencilled in for the new year, it’s a good time to be a Frank Joshua fan.
Winter Cowboy is performed by Frank Joshua and produced by Tony White. You can check out its video below.
