Seattle, USA-based pop musician Abby London first featured on this blog last year when Jane ran the rule over her track Hysteria. Jane vibed with Abby so much, she followed that up with a few questions in an interview. Now it’s my turn to share some of her music thanks to her latest release written for her cousin’s funeral. It’s called I Wanna Go.

I Wanna Go is a heartfelt and collaborative effort, combining a poem by Abby’s cousin Scotty and other family sentiments. They pay tribute to Lindsey, Abby’s cousin whose life was cut tragically short. The title refers to Lindsey’s desire to be involved with everything, even the most mundane of trips, and the celebration of her life is beautifully captured through a delicate and intimate piano arrangement, compelling vocals and descriptive lyrics.

Loss is always tragic but it’s in those moments when life becomes most important. The authentic emotions that come with it are hard to capture, but Abby has done so with this tribute. You can listen to I Wanna Go below.
