Vancouver, Canada-based indie rock band Slightest Clue are becoming something of a regular feature on this blog. They first hit these pages in March this year with their track Just Fine. We followed that up with shares of singles Zipper and Suit Uptight! Their latest is an ode to new love and it’s called When You Wake Up.

Like with Just Fine, Slightest Clue’s latest sees bassist Hannah Kruse take on vocal duties. The instrumentals are based on a demo originally written by guitarist Malcolm McLaren and give us a mix between sultry jazz and modern rock. Descriptive lyrics are full of heat, unsurprisingly as they were written during a historic heatwave, and perfectly capture the fire of new romance.
