Kent-based singer songwriter Wez King first came to our attention in 2022 when Jane shared his track We Were Young. It’s been awhile since he’s last graced these pages but I’m very pleased to welcome him back with a new one for 2024. It’s called OFFICER.
By Graeme Smith
Kicking in with an instant jangly groove, OFFICER is the kind of track that will very quickly wind up in the UK indie legends songbook. Anti-authoritarian and full of British swagger, it’s one for lovers of Liam Gallagher or those who came after. A catchy chorus will stick with you and its guitar solos are sublime.
OFFICER was recorded at The Libertines studio in Margate and produced by Jason Stafford. It features Sahib Dhinsa on bass, Dan Maggs on drums, Zack Schulze on lead guitar and Josh Caister on rhythm guitar. It was mastered by Graham Waller.
