New Music: Minda Lacy – Worth Writing Home About

Portland, USA-based acoustic folk singer songwriter Minda Lacy first featured on this blog in May last year when I ran the rule over her album Loneliest Bug. At the time I was enchanted with her beautifully playful style, something which we also get in her latest single. A cheeky ode to a noteworthy female feature, it’s called Worth Writing Home About.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with a traditional country folk feel, Worth Writing Home About quickly deviates from tradition thanks to Minda’s expressive vocals and tongue-in-cheek lyrical storytelling. It’s the kind of track that demands you sing along and always proves a hit at Minda’s live shows. Getting the track on record was an unplanned event, but we’re certainly grateful for it. Now the world can share in its joy.

Worth Writing Home About features Minda on vocals and guitar, and Luke Anthony on harmonica and backing vocals. It was recorded at Shed Sounds Studios in Pennsylvania by Caleb Harmon. You can give the track a listen below.
