London-based experimental dream pop artist Frank Joshua is no stranger to this blog, having featured numerous times before. He’s just released his latest single, a stripped-back ballad that explores how our feelings can drive our poor behaviour. It’s called Victim.
By Graeme Smith
Frank is never one to pull punches with his lyrics and his latest is particularly striking. Its story unfolds against a bed of emotional piano and an undercurrent of mournful strings before we arrive at a rich and textured crescendo. The ghostly whistling is a particular highlight.
Victim was written by Frank Joshua and produced by Tony White. It features the whistling of Margo Buchanan and was recorded at Whitelight Studios in North London. You can give its lyric video a watch below.
