Video: Pallmer – Carbon

Pallmer are a chamber pop trio from New Brunswick, Canada who have just come to my attention thanks to their new track and video taken from their debut album Swimming, released today. It’s called Carbon.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with unconventional layers of plucked strings, you can tell straight away that you’re in for something different with Carbon. Emily Kennedy’s soft and soulful vocals come in, delivering poetic lyrics that will have you poring over every word. As the track develops, the instrumental arrangement grows more complex without losing any of its intimacy. It’s simply a captivating wonder.

Swimming is out now in all the usual places. The single Carbon was produced by Joshua Van Tassel and its video was directed by Jordan Anthony Greer. It was shot along the Nashwaak River and features dancer G.C. Grant. You can give it a watch below.
