Naked Brunch are a London-based chamber pop and post-punk group who have just come to my attention through the release of their latest single. A captivating and poetic wonder, it’s called Human Dust.
By Graeme Smith
Featuring cello, viola and bass, Naked Brunch combine the classical with the modern, attempting to tie together the genres of chamber pop and post-punk. The result feels beautifully unique, and Human Dust is simply a mesmerising track. Melancholic vocals tell an intimate story before we reach a lilting chorus rich with harmonies and rumbling with a rock undercurrent.
I’ll be keeping a close eye on Naked Brunch. They have an exciting and unconventional sound that demands attention.
Human Dust will feature on Naked Brunch’s upcoming album, set for release in the Spring. You can give the single a listen below.
