Detroit, USA-based alternative pop artist Mirnaz has featured a few times before on these pages, going back to the end of 2022 when she hit our radar through her intimate track God Complex. Her latest is an introspective number called Control.

Mirnaz’s latest speaks of inner conflict and the struggles we have to gain control of our lives. It’s a sentiment to which I can certainly relate and she brings the emotion to life through stripped-back yet lush R&B and her characteristically soulful vocals. There’s simply something mesmerising about Mirnaz’s sound which has me coming back to it time and again, and her lyrical astuteness sets her out from the crowd.
