Blackpool-based rock band Rendered have been all over these pages since they hit our radar last month. This is the third track of theirs that we’re sharing. An unapologetically nostalgic ode to ’90s Britpop, it’s called Somedays.
By Graeme Smith
There’s a darker side to Somedays too, and it was written in the wake of a loss of a relationship and a job. The resulting mix of nostalgia and melancholy is a heady one. Soulful vocals are the highlight, backed initially by acoustic guitar before the arrangement gradually builds to an electric organ-infused wonder.
Rendered are Dale Ball, Christopher Phelan, James Routh and Craig Bunney. Somedays was recorded at Rock Hard studios in Blackpool by James Routh, who also did the mixing. Dale Ball co-produced. The track also features the backing vocals of Ian Hooper. You can give it a listen below.
