Madame Psychosis is a Toronto, Canada-based rock band who have featured on this blog once before. Towards the end of last year, they powered onto my radar with their catchy and singalong track Kapow, and I enjoyed it so much that I just had to share their newest one. It’s called Hopeless.
By Graeme Smith
Despite its name, Hopeless is actually a hopeful track. Telling the story of overcoming heartbreak and starting anew, it slowly builds from a bluesy beginning to arrive at a powerful crescendo that brings together alternative pop with soul and gospel. As ever, the vocals are utterly captivating, expressing the emotion of the track’s story with every note.
The more I hear of Madame Psychosis, the more I like. Having built a reputation in Toronto, I think it’s about time the rest of the world take note of them too. You can check out Hopeless below.
