New Music: Band Spectra – It Starts Again

Band Spectra is the project of Chichester-based dream pop artist Robert Manning. He’s featured once before on this blog, last year, when I shared his track and video Stars Seem Eternal.

By Graeme Smith

A disabled musician, Robert uses Band Spectra both as a therapeutic outlet to combat his Multiple Sclerosis, and as a way of raising visibility and highlighting the barriers for people like him.

His latest It Starts Again is an attempt to capture a moment in song form. Opening with echoing, cosmic notes, it quickly hits an electronic pop groove. Spoken word vocals from City Parking’s Jade Cook then paint a vivid picture of hedonism. The result is something truly hypnotic. Close your eyes and allow it to transport you.

The track is the first release from Band Spectra’s upcoming EP and features Brian Eno collaborator Leo Abrahams on guitar. You can give It Starts Again a listen below.
