London-based singer songwriter ettie first came to our attention in June 2022 as part of Jane’s Monthly Favourites round up. I then followed that up last year with a share of her wistful story Marty McFly. Now she’s back with a gay love anthem. It’s called Last Best Lover.

In Last Best Lover, ettie shows us her emo rock chops, channelling influences from the likes of Paramore and Blink-182. Reinventing that early ’00s sound with her own unique style, she creates something that feels both familiar and fresh, and with a warmth and brightness that will give you goosebumps all over.
I’m always happy to have music by ettie on this blog. Her compositions are big and bold, while her lyrics are full of emotion. Last Best Lover is a perfect listen if you’re still feeling the love from Valentine’s Day yesterday. You can check it out below.
