American rock band The Margaret Hooligans have been gracing these pages since early 2023, and recently we’ve been sharing singles from their upcoming fourth album ThunderHole Rock n’ Roll.
By Graeme Smith
Their fifth single from the album is Royal Octopus Canal, a breakup song. Of course, in true The Margaret Hooligans style, it’s not a straightforward one, and there’s plenty of room for anarchy in a composition that includes electric ukulele and heavy drums. Singer Meg Cratty will have you feeling every heart-breaking moment.
ThunderHole Rock n’ Roll is slated to land in October this year, and there are plenty more singles to come from it.
Royal Octopus Canal was recorded in the basement of Piety Street Publishing. It was mixed and produced by band member, drummer and backing vocalist Mr. Strontium and mastered by KRAMER of Shimmy Disc Records. You can give the track a listen below.
