Interview: Bad Bubble

If you like your electronic music on the more experimental side of things, then Bad Bubble could be the artist for you! The track Tindering particularly caught my attention, with the lyrics commenting on the modern online dating scene. Give it a stream after this interview if you like what you read here!

You recently released a new track called Tindering. What can you tell us about the song?

Sure. Tindering is my brief analysis on the online dating scam. These companies are making money. And huge companies do not make money by sending their customers away. For everyone who ‘finds love’ on these sites, they lose 2 people. They don’t want that. So they do deceptive things to keep you on their site. That said, when you experience it, you will find normal people behaving in the worst ways. Deception, arrogance, low self esteem, an inflated sense of self worth, not to mention the sheer audacity of swiping someone away in less than a second. That will always be the number one thing I cannot stand about it. You swipe people aside without knowing who they are, what their dreams are, what their gifts to the world are. And on the other hand, you don’t know how depraved this person may be either. Go back 100 years and explain to the people back then, this is how things will be. I wonder what their reaction would be…

How has the reception to Tindering been so far, and where can it be purchased?

It has been great. People seem to be enjoying it and I couldn’t be happier. The video did pretty well across all platforms. This was the last video I wore the mask. I wore a mask for over 2 years and recently shed it. So this is the last time anyone saw me wearing it.

It can be purchased at here.

Do you have any more singles planned for the near future?

Oh yes. I just released my 6th Album, War, which is already out on all platforms. I just released a video for a track on the album, Flower Bar. You can find it on my YouTube channel.

In a couple of months, I have a single coming out called Blonde which is releasing on Regroup Records, which I’m really excited about.

Are there any plans to release a new album or EP anytime soon?

Other than number 6, sometime in spring, I will be releasing a very special album I wasn’t really supposed to release. It’s called January and it will be released on Electric Eden Records. This is going to be a little different. The album was written in… well, January, but it is a little different than what my listeners are accustomed to. It’s a little more on the lighter side. Which I admit, I do love doing.

Do you have any side projects on the go?

No. I also do not collaborate. Not saying I am not open to the idea. But it’s something I haven’t participated in as of yet. But no one knows what the future will bring.

Tindering is an ambient electronic song. What/who are you most influenced by? What have you been listening to recently?

I was always influenced by prolific artists, whomever they may be. They could be of a genre I do not listen to or have ever heard of – if they are hardworking and produce quality and quantity simultaneously, they have always had my respect. An artist should think about giving their listeners much to choose from and much to listen to for those who always want to hear more. Even if it is just a few people.

Where are you based? What is the local music scene like?

I am around the Chicago area. There are many genres playing anywhere around here. Blues will always dominate here. It’s the signature sound. However, electronic is thriving as well as rock and there are many DJs sprinkled in between. It is a good time to play out live.

Do you have anything else exciting coming up over the next few months?

Yes, I have an album, called January, which will be out on Electric Eden records on March 9, 2024. I am really looking forward to that! It will be my first album on a label. A dream come true for me…

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

I am in talks with a few people from the UK about this very thing. It is only a matter of time. A lot goes into this kind of thing. But if I can iron out some wrinkles, maybe 2025 can break through the clutter…

Any last words for the fans?

Hang in there. I have a ton of things for all of you to sort through. And while you are sorting through all of this, I have some things coming out which will keep you company. Cheers!
