AVDREY (pronounced “Audrey”) is an American artist and multi-instrumentalist hailing from rural New Hampshire. She’s just come to my attention through her track that tells the story of a toxic relationship. It’s called The Caged.

Though a topic now well-trodden in the world of music, AVDREY makes it her own with The Caged. There’s a sense of authentic emotion in its lyrics, no doubt written from hard-earned experience, and her unique combination of pop and folk elements in the instrumental heightens everything.

Playing pop and rock as well as traditional music has given AVDREY an interesting sound that I’m looking forward to getting better acquainted with. Fortunately, her EP 4AM on which The Caged features is also out now so there’s plenty more of her music to devour.
