London-based artist Natalie Lindi first appeared on this blog in November last year when I shared her tale of a long-distance relationship, Keeper.
By Graeme Smith
Keeper captured my attention through its lush production and Natalie’s distinctive vocals. Purple Shoes strips things back a little in comparison, giving more space to Natalie’s beautiful voice and storytelling lyrics. It’s a heart-breaking story of loss, written from her own experience. The track is yet more evidence, if we needed it, of just what a special talent Natalie Lindi is.
Natalie will be playing at The Purcell Room, The Southbank Centre on 12 April as part of Michelle Escoffery’s night, and will headline The Jazz Cafe on 28 April, so if you happen to be in London around then, be sure to check her out live.
