Manningtree-based performer Blenko, real name Rebecca Simmonds, first featured on this blog last summer through her debut solo single Through Your Teeth. Towards the end of last year, I also featured her track Only A Matter of Time.

With her latest release, Only A Matter of Time gets a remix courtesy of Pigeon Post (aka songwriter and producer Paul James Usher). Paul gives the track a lively and percussive twist, while not obscuring the original’s story of human relationships. Blenko, the former frontwoman of Anna’s Bones, has such a bright and exciting approach to her music, and Pigeon Post both respects and enhances it in this remix.

I am always excited by new music from Blenko. She truly is a unique voice bringing something new to the saturated world of music.
