Video: Racheal Sage – Deepest Dark

New York, USA-based singer songwriter, poet, arranger and producer Racheal Sage first featured on this blog last summer thanks to her fifteenth album release The Other Side. I then followed up with a share of her video I Made A Case in the autumn.

By Graeme Smith

Now she’s back with another new video, shot this side of the Atlantic at Asylum Chapel in London. The video was directed by Lee Malone and beautifully amplifies the emotional journey of Racheal’s track Deepest Dark. Singing with lilting vocals, Racheal accompanies herself on piano and delivers poetic and warming lyrics that speak of friendship. Featuring in the video alongside her is violinist Kelly Halloran.

Deepest Dark is a timely reminder that The Other Side is a record that’s long overdue another spin. Rachael truly is an accomplished song writer and performer, and her sound is genuinely timeless.
