Stone Cold Sweethearts are a rock band based the other side of the Humber estuary from here in Lincoln. They’ve just come to my attention through the release of their new, Britpop-inspired track Blow Your Mind.

With their new song, Stone Cold Sweethearts take us back to a time when rock music was unashamedly anthemic, taking its cues from the likes of Oasis, as well as more recent influences such as Arctic Monkeys and Kid Kapichi. A track about getting up to no good because of peer pressure, it delivers a raucous, unabashed arrangement with overlapping vocals, a swaggering groove, and a memorable chorus. It’s British rock in its purest form.
