Based in Uppsala, Sweden, Northern Trails are an Americana band who do things a little differently, bringing in elements of pop and rock to their sound.

They’ve just come to my attention through the release of their latest single, the first of four planned releases for this Spring. Called Through the Grain, it’s a song that combines natural imagery with a powerful sense of emotion. About a moment of revelation, it starts slow and introspective before exploding into a bright, enlightening soft rock arrangement.
Through The Grain was produced and mixed by the band’s singer songwriter Thomas Isberg, who also plays guitar and banjo. Joining him on the track are Christer Tinnerholm on bass and backing vocals, Per Larsson on guitar, mandolin, lap steel and backing vocals, Ulf Eklund on drums and backing vocals, and Thomas Strömbom on keyboard and piano. You can give the track a listen below.
