Ireland-born, London-based singer songwriter Lucy McWilliams has featured a couple of times before on this blog. Last year, Jane and I shared a track of hers each.

Her latest single Mr Useless opens up her debut EP Third Second Chance, released today. It’s a collection that also includes her December single Follow Me so we’ve already got a lot of evidence that it’ll be one not to be missed.

Mr Useless is, unsurprisingly, an angry song, but it also conveys a lot of humour. A lively soul-rock instrumental sets the tone before Lucy’s delicate and expressive vocals come in. They tell an immersive story that will have you gripped.

To celebrate the release of her new EP, Lucy will be playing shows in London and Dublin on 27 and 28 March respectively. More dates are to follow.
