I first discovered Norwegian composer Margido at the end of last year – now they return with Hamresanden.

Hamresanden is a glorious piece of music – it’s actually more folky than it is classical-based, incorporating a range of interesting effects and instruments into the mix. The main guitar arpeggio is stunning, changing slightly as the piece progresses, adding more and more layers over time. The trumpet solo is a nice surprise too, really turning this piece into something remarkably unique in the modern music era.
