Newcastle-based emo rock act Tired of Fighting first came to our attention as part of Jane’s Pop Punk Revival roundup which included their track Chocolate.

Now I get to welcome them back thanks to their latest single Branches. You really can’t beat a good bit of emo and Tired of Fighting deliver in spades with their explosive new single. It tells the story of getting older, which I’m sure is something to which all their fans can relate. Yet, it’s not all whinging about stiff backs, there’s a powerful emotional depth in its lyrics as they touch on topics such as trauma and grief, and how the lack of them can sometimes feel wrong in itself.

Later this month, Tired of Fighting hit the road on their first UK tour. There’s a Yorkshire date in Rotherham on 19 April at The Hive, The Bridge Inn. Tickets for all tour dates can be found here.
