Klaverson, real name Jack Lintorn, is a London-based singer songwriter who has featured on this blog a couple of times before, going back to early last year when he hit my radar through his debut single Believe.

Now he’s followed that up with his first EP release. After a hectic eighteen months for Jack, Reflections brings together some of his successes of the last year, placing them alongside some new material in a collection that is going to demand attention.
Klaverson has already been getting a fair bit, with support from Spotify, BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 Music and Capital to name a few. Yet, his music is more than just head-turning. It’s an invitation into his world, and lyrically he explores himself and his evolution as an artist across the five tracks of Reflections.
Straight away, we are drawn in by the brooding and meditative opening notes of Prayer and then hooked by its groovy and soulful instrumental arrangement. Jack’s vocals are the star of the show, wonderfully soft and compelling as they find their place in the jazzy complexity of it all.
Losing You is stripped-back and heart-breaking before we get to the EP’s centrepiece, Sweet Sensation. With a cinematic richness, it invites us to savour the moment.
You gives us some textured, ethereal atmosphere and introspective lyrics before things are rounded off nicely by Fate. A collaboration with Chris Duke it draws on lo-fi conventions to create something that sits somewhere between that and percussive pop.
As an artist, Klaverson has wasted no time finding his sound, and it’s one that’s equal parts accessible and challenging. With that intoxicating mix, it’s easy to see why he’s getting the attention that he is. I feel like Reflections is going to get him on the wider musical map.
