In the past, Bat Flattery have shared stages with punk legends The Skids, as well as Slackrr, Other Half and Mannequin Death Squad. They have two self-released EPs to their name, and their new single is the first of six that will be released with Socks On Records this year.
Over in less than two minutes, Onibaba Mask is a track that doesn’t waste a note. Opening with some relentless riffs and emotional vocals, it never lets up. The instrumental is punchy, marked with some quick rises and falls in an arrangement that packs a lot in. It’s an absolute must listen for lovers of post-punk.
Bat Flattery are Paul Chave on guitar and vocals, Rob Barker on bass and vocals, and Plamen Pironev on drums and vocals. Onibaba Mask was mixed and mastered by Martyn Bewick at Playing Aloud Studios, Lincoln. It’s out now, available on Spotify and Bandcamp, and you can check out its video below.
