Shoegazers The House Flies return with a captivating new single and video

Previously appearing on our blog last year with their EP Glimmer, The House Flies blend shoegaze with goth rock and post-punk in a way we can get behind.

By Graeme Smith

Consisting of vocalist and guitarist Alex Riggen, Nick Pompou on drums, and Ozzie Woods on bass, The House Flies are a band that have something a little special about them. They shamelessly blend genre, creating music that defies categorisation.

Their latest single She Hums Mozart is no exception. Opening with some echoing guitar, it finds a melancholic groove before delicate vocals come in, delivering poetic lyrics that will stick with you.

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Mannequin Deposit, set for release in August this year. It’s out now and you can check out its video below.
