The music of Cristina Movileanu has been appearing on this blog since last autumn and I’m always pleased to welcome her back to these pages.
By Graeme Smith
Hailing from Moldova and now based in Ireland, Cristina is a fine artist alongside being a singer songwriter. That perhaps explains how visual her lyrics can be. Her new single Lavender Moon draws on poetry and imagery to tell its nostalgic tale. Musically we get some delicate and atmospheric folk infused with classical strings and atmospheric plucked guitar. Altogether it adds up to something beautifully unique.
Lavender Moon features contributions from Vitalyi Tkaciuk, Bruno Migliari, João Paulo Drumond, Antônio Guerra, and Pedro Araújo. It was mixed and mastered by Bruce Allen. The track is out now and you can check it out below.
