Inspired by the ’70s sound of Stevie Nicks, and ’00s sound of Amy Winehouse, Goldie Scott‘s new single Blind Eye delivers the perfect blend of retro and modern.

Goldie has been appearing on this blog since 2022, having first hit these pages through her vibrant alternative pop single Mista Mystery. Based in New York City, USA, it was her time in New Orleans and California that inspired her latest single Blind Eye.
The track adopts a sound that Goldie calls “witchy cowgirl” and there’s certainly something unique about it. A stripped-back and acoustic intro gives plenty of space for her compelling and soulful vocals before building with classical strings, a distinctive tempo and plenty of catharsis.
