Marika Lejon stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ community in new track Forbidden Love

Inspired by the terror attack on the London Pub in Oslo, Norway, and persecution of homosexuals in countries like recent Football World Cup hosts Qatar, Marika Lejon‘s new single Forbidden Love is an important one.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with a moody and percussive beat, we immediately get a strong sense of emotion from Forbidden Love. Storytelling lyrics are rich with visceral detail, defiance and, ultimately become rousing and anthemic in the chorus. Stylistically, it’s a track’s that’s hard to categorise, combining pop with something a little more indescribable. What’s in no doubt are the passion and character of Marika’s vocals. They’re utterly mesmerising.

Forbidden Love was written by Chris Abram (lyrics) and Robert Vendetta (music). Robert also did the arranging and producing with Marika’s involvement. The track was mastered by Chris Sansom. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
