Try Something New is the debut single from Montreal, Canada’s MGMT and Glass Animals-inspired alternative pop duo LOAF 2.

LOAF 2 are David Shone on drums and Mackenzie Boys-Eddy on keyboards and vocals. Friends in high school in Brampton, Ontario, they have both relocated to Montreal and regrouped to form the sequel to their first band.

Try Something New sits somewhere between pop, electronica and rock and features a driving drum arrangement, pulsating bass notes and a nod-inducing groove. Soulful vocals float over everything especially during a soaring chorus that has lyrics that will transport you. It’s simply breath-taking and, as a debut, quite something.

The single was composed, produced and recorded by David and Mackenzie in their home studio. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
