London’s Yodashe returns with a story of self-discovery

We’re becoming big fans of London-based artist, producer and composer Yodashe here at York Calling and her new single CHRYSALID is more evidence of why she’s one to watch.

By Graeme Smith

First featuring on our pages in March this year, I quickly followed up my share of her track FAM with a review of her single EASTER.

Yodashe’s latest CHRYSALID takes us on a journey of self-discovery, and we witness her doing the inner work to grow as a person and encourage us to find our own way through. Musically, it’s quite unlike much I’ve heard before with dizzying, overlapping textures and snatches of sharp percussion. Ethereal vocals float over everything, and Yodashe makes great use of digital effects. It’s simply a mesmerising and stunning effort.

CHRYSALID is out now and you can check it out below.
