Written in the memory of his father who recently passed through dementia, Hays Dowdy has teamed up with Abby Sevcik for his new single Seas of Souls.

We’ve featured the music of Washington DC, USA-based rocker Hays Dowdy before. It was last month that he hit our radar through his debut single release Inside the City. I said at the time I’d keep an eye out for his name and I’m glad I did.

His new track Seas of Souls is a powerful tribute to his father and tells the man’s story through a bright and celebratory alternative and prog rock arrangement. An expansive arrangement in the verse bursts into life in a chorus where Hays expressive vocals come into their own. I’ve not heard much like it and I definitely want to hear more.
