Tessa first featured on this blog in April this year through her lively punk single no one’s getting out unbroken (giving up my ghost). Though its follow up is undoubtedly also a rock track, The Loser Gets Set Free bristles with pop energy too.

Its title is inspired by ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All and its composition brings with it a certain sound that you’d associate with the ’70s giants of pop. It’s a track that bounces along with power chords and relatable sentiments. As ever, Tessa’s charismatic vocals are the highlight, especially during a heartfelt chorus that speaks of finding a new life after the end of a relationship.

The Loser Gets Set Free was written and produced by Tessa in her home studio. It’s out now and you can check it out below.
