Family Video are a Charlotte, North Carolina, USA-based rock band who has grabbed my attention with their unique new track, Continental Drift.

Family Video are Gabe Avant on drums, Garett Ballard on guitars and synth, Brian Bethea on sax, Ben Fortenberry on guitar and noise box, David Frick on synths, Josh Shabtai on vocals, guitars and programming, and Eli Wendkos on bass.

I was intrigued when they described their new track Continental Drift as “My Sharona meets Death From Above 1979.” That’s exactly what it is. A fuzzy, instantly memorable riff opens things before the track slides effortlessly into a melancholic groove. Powerfully whispered vocals tell a story of living the mundane on an increasingly hostile planet.

Continental Drift is out now and you can check it out below.
