Buxton-based indie rock artist Isaac Neilson’s music has been gracing these pages since 2022. Now he’s back with a track to soundtrack his biggest summer yet.

Isaac recently took to the Quarry Stage at YNot Festival and I have no doubt that his new single Take It Higher was part of his set, and that it went down a storm. It’s the kind of lively indie pop banger that plays well on a festival stage, where artists are constantly fighting for the crowd’s attention.

Opening with a swaggering rhythm, we instantly get our groove on. The track wastes no time landing its first hook, but what really had me sticking around was its lyrics. They paint a beautifully visceral picture of debauchery. Isaac Neilson is making a strong claim for Britain’s next indie rock household name.

Take It Higher is out now and you can listen to it below.
