Sonofdov recently appeared on this blog thanks to his split EP with Renee Maskin, Chansons De Lune. Now he’s back on a solo footing with a new single.

Real name Dennis King, Sonofdov is an alternative folk singer songwriter based in New Jersey, USA. His music impressed me when paired with Renee’s so I was keen to run the rule over some more of it.

Natural Disaster is his latest single. A delicate and intimate affair, we get some melancholic acoustic guitar in the opening before Dennis’s soulful vocals come in. They deliver lyrics full of natural imagery, telling an emotional story before building into a big, cinematic chorus. From there, its full arrangement is plenty stirring.
