North Yorkshire’s Two Strikes are a band that combine the rock sensibilities of the ’90s and ’00s with storytelling lyrics to creating a perfectly absorbing maelstrom.

They’ve just come to my attention for the first time through their single, Control. Created with producer Chris Coulter at The Arch studio, it’s a short but powerful affair. It wastes no time getting right into with with rousing riffs and passionate vocals. Its lyrics speak of emotional manipulation and unhealthy obsessions, a story that comes into its own during a soaring, cathartic chorus.
If you’re a fan of Muse, My Chemical Romance or Foo Fighters, then you’re going to find a lot to love about the music of Two Strikes.
Control is out now and you can listen to it below.
